policebuildingJANUARY 29:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Hiawatha Blvd that resulted in the arrest of a Wantage, NJ resident for an active traffic warrant issued from the Newark Municipal Court.  The 48-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

JANUARY 29:  Officer Bryan Rowin located a 46-year-old male with an active criminal warrant issued out of the Fairview Municipal Court, who was seated in the Oakland Municipal Court.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later turned over to the Fairview Police Department when the offender was unable to secure bail for his release.

FEBRUARY 2:  A Hawthorne, NJ resident who is employed at the Oakland Shop-Rite responded to headquarters to report that credit cards were stolen from her wallet and one was used by an unknown actor. The victim further stated that the only time her belongings are usually unattended is when she is at work.  Report taken by Detective Edward McDermott.

FEBRUARY 2:  Detective Edward McDermott investigated a complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident from Kingsley Evans Circle stated that he discovered his identity was compromised when he received letters from two different retailers that stated his applications for new lines of credit were unapproved.  The requests were made without his knowledge or consent. Report filed.

FEBRUARY 2:  Detective Edward McDermott investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident stated that she discovered her identity was compromised when she learned that someone attempted to file a tax return in her name without her knowledge or consent.  The incident was reported to the IRS by the victim.  Report filed.
