On the Job – January 13, 2015


opdonthejobJANUARY 6:  A resident from Woods End responded to headquarters to report being a victim of credit card fraud after she was notified of unapproved transactions involving her account.  Officer Keith Docwra handled the initial investigation.  Report taken and matter forwarded to the Detective Bureau.

JANUARY 8:  Officer Keith Docwra investigated a complaint of Harassment involving employees at JB Pet Supply.  The girlfriend of a recently terminated employee was sending harassing text messages to another current employee.  Matter of record at this time.

JANUARY 9:  While on patrol, Officer Frank Fiore initiated a motor vehicle stop on West Oakland Avenue for a moving violation that resulted in the arrest of a Bronx, NY resident for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  The 38-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on his own recognizance. The offender was charged criminally for the drug related offenses and was also issued numerous motor vehicle summonses as well.

JANUARY 10:  Officer Bryan Rowin investigated a citizen’s complaint of a suspicious male consuming alcoholic beverages in the Shop-Rite of Oakland parking lot.  The encounter resulted in the arrest of a 47-year-old Riverdale, NJ resident after he was discovered to be a wanted person by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department.  The offender was taken into custody, processed, and later turned over to the Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.

JANUARY 10:  During the course of a welfare check involving a River Rd resident, it was determined that the involved 48-year-old male had multiple active traffic and criminal warrants issued out of the Ridgewood Municipal Court.  The offender was taken into custody, processed, and later turned over to the Ridgewood Police Department for final disposition when bail could not be secured for his release.  Arrest made by Officer Bryan Rowin with the assistance of Officers Thomas Pianettini and Michael Griffin.

JANUARY 11:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Skyline Drive that resulted in the arrest of an Elmwood Park, NJ resident for multiple active traffic warrants issued from the Elmwood Park Municipal Court.  The 29-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail that was posted by a relative.
