On the Job – January 20, 2013


whatamaroonOn January 17, 2013 while performing court security for the Oakland Municipal Court, Officer Noury was utilizing a handheld metal detector to screen defendants entering the courtroom.  The device alerted to a piece of aluminum foil located in the front pants pocket of a 23 year old Mahwah, NJ resident.  Inside the folded up foil Officer Noury located a small green vegetative substance believed to be marijuana.  The suspect was arrested and charged with the possession of 50 grams or less of a controlled dangerous substance.  He was released and appeared in court that evening.  Ptl. O’Neill assisted in the investigation.

On January 18, 2013 an Oakland resident reported to Ptl. Keenan the theft of two construction trailers from a piece of property located on Ramapo Valley Road.  The trailers are described as a 30’ long silver, single axle Feuhauf box trailer and a 36’ long, triple axle red and silver Dorsey dump trailer.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department detective bureau at 201-337-6171.
