On the Job – July 22, 2012


dwiskullOn July 10, 2012 Ptl. McDermott conducted a motor vehicle stop on Yawpo Ave. on a vehicle that was unregistered. The driver, a 56 year old female Franklin Lakes resident, was also found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended NJ driver’s license.  Further inquiry revealed that she had an outstanding traffic warrant in the amount of $1421.00. She was subsequently arrested and transported to HQ.  At HQ, it was determined that the suspect’s license was suspended as a result of her being convicted of a second or subsequent D.W.I. offense.  As a result of this, she was charged with the criminal offense of operating a motor vehicle while being on the revoked list due to a second or subsequent DWI.  Bail was set at $2500.00 which was posted in full prior to her release.

On July 17, 2012 Ptl. Rowin conducted a motor vehicle stop on Long Hill Road after observing the vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Ramapo Valley Road .  The driver, a 68 year old female Mahwah resident, was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.  She was transported to HQ where she failed to provide adequate samples of her breath for chemical testing.  She was charged with D.W.I., D.W.I. in a school zone, reckless driving, failure to keep right and refusing to submit to the Alcotest.  She was later released into the custody of a friend and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
