On the Job – June 10, 2014 – Updated


JUNE 13: Officer Bryan Rowin was dispatched to the Oakland Motor Vehicle Commission for a forty-one year old male Hackensack, NJ resident who was found to have multiple active traffic and criminal arrest warrants issued out of numerous jurisdictions. The male party was arrested, processed and later turned over into the custody of the Lodi Police Department after the arrestee was unable to secure bail to satisfy the warrants and was lodged in the Bergen County Jail.

opdonthejob1JUNE 4: During the course of investigating an animal bite complaint at the Ramapo Lodge, Officer Bryan Rowin located an active traffic warrant issued out of Franklin Lakes, NJ for one of the involved parties on scene.  The seventy-two year old arrestee was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

JUNE 4: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin located an Oakland resident with an active traffic warrant for his arrest on Sioux Ave which was issued out of the Oakland Municipal Court.  The thirty-seven year old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released after bail was posted.

JUNE 5: Acting Sergeant Timothy Keenan and Officer Luis Gaviria were dispatched to a residence on Ramapo Valley Road to investigate a Landlord/Tenant dispute.  During their investigation it was determined that one of the parties, a thirty-seven year old male who resided there had an active criminal arrest warrant issued out Paterson, NJ.  The offender was taken into custody, processed, and later released on his own recognizances.

JUNE 9: Sgt. Paul O’Keefe responded to the Copper Tree Mall to investigate a complaint of a suspicious male seated inside a vehicle on the mall property.  Sgt. O’Keefe located the party in question and observed his actions for a period of time.  After seeing the suspect discard an item out of his car window and then proceed to drive off, a motor vehicle stop was initiated on Ramapo Valley Road.  Sgt. O’Keefe interviewed the driver roadside and discovered that fictitious plates were attached to the vehicle that he was operating. Additionally, the operator identified himself to the officer as another member of his family in an apparent attempt to conceal his true identity. The forty-one year male, a resident of Haskell, NJ, was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.  The arrestee was charged criminally with Driving While Suspended for a prior DUI conviction, and providing False Information to a law enforcement officer, along with multiple motor vehicle summonses.  Bail was set at $25,0000 and the arrestee was transported to the Bergen County jail after being unable to secure the funds for his release.
