oakland_pdOn June 5, 2010 Ptl. Gary Fiore and Ptl. O’Neill were dispatched to business on Raritan Road for an activated burglar alarm. Upon arrival, Ptl. O’Neill located a door in the rear of the building that was slightly ajar. Further inspection revealed a hole in the door where a lock was once located and a shattered glass window. Entry appeared to have been gained to the building. The officers secured the building a requested a detective to the scene. Det./Sgt. DeBoer along with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the scene. The matter continues to be under further investigation.

On June 10, 2010 a resident from Hickory Drive reported observing an individual wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt in the process of burglarizing her vehicle in her driveway. Officers were dispatched to the scene and attempted to locate the individual who had fled the area on foot. Nothing was discovered missing from the vehicle in the driveway and the suspect remains at large after an extensive search was conducted. On June 10, 2010 a local business owner reported that an individual was observed shoplifting merchandise from his store on June 9, 2010. The woman had concealed several items in a bag that she was carrying. She was confronted by employees on scene and denied the allegations until she was confronted with surveillance video which captured the theft. The 49 year old Fair Lawn , NJ resident was charged with shoplifting by Ptl. Harvey and released on her own recognizance. A June 2010 court date has been set in the Oakland Municipal Court.
