On June 12, 2012 Officers were dispatched to a residence on Lakeview Terrace for a reported assault in progress. While en route to the scene, Ptl. Broek observed the alleged offender fleeing the scene in his vehicle on Doty Road . The officer stopped the suspect and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for DWI and upon further investigation was charged with aggravated assault for the injuries he caused to the victim on Lakeview Terrace. Bail was set at $50,000.00, no 10 % and the 55 year old Bergenfield resident was later transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail.
On June 14, 2012 as a result of a month-long investigation regarding the theft of approximately $3500.00 worth of scrap metal from a business on Edison Avenue , officers arrested a 44 year old Paterson man when he returned to the scene of the crime. Ptl. Frank Fiore apprehended the suspect on West Oakland Ave along with the assistance of Ptl. Pianettini and Det. Piercy. He was charged with third degree theft and trespassing and later released on his own recognizance. The case is scheduled to be heard in the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack .
