On the Job – June 25, 2014


opdonthejob2JUNE 16:  Officer Gary Gusterson investigated a complaint of fraud/theft of services at Portobello’s Banquets.  The restaurant owner stated that for the past four years an unknown person had compromised his Optimum Phone account and added phone lines without his consent which resulted in him paying the bill.  Report filed and referred to the Detective Bureau.

JUNE 16:  An Overlook Ridge resident reported that gift cards she ordered online were delivered to an incorrect address and that they were activated without her authorization.  The total amount lost was $250.  Incident investigated by Acting Sergeant Timothy Keenan and referred to the Detective Bureau.

JUNE 17:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin observed a forty-one year old Ringwood resident that was known to have an active criminal warrant for his arrest in the amount of $20,000 issued out of the Oakland Municipal Court, seated as a passenger in a motor vehicle on West Oakland Ave.  A stop of the vehicle was initiated and the offender was taken into custody and transported into headquarters for processing.  While in custody it was discovered that the arrestee had multiple small bags of cocaine and a crack pipe secreted on his person.  Additional criminal charges were issued for the possession of a controlled dangerous substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.  The offender was unable to secure bail for his release and was lodged in the Bergen County Jail.

JUNE 19:  While on patrol, Officer Michael Catenacci served a local complaint summons upon a resident of Wenonah Ave and located a traffic warrant for his arrest which was issued out of the Clifton Municipal Court in the amount of $500.  The twenty year old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on his own recognizance.

JUNE 19:  Officer Bryan Rowin located a forty-three year old male with an active traffic warrant issued out of the Ringwood Municipal Court in the amount of $943 who was seated in the Oakland Municipal Court.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later released on bail that was posted on his behalf by an acquaintance.

JUNE 19:  Officers Stephen Broek and Donald Harvey initiated contact with a thrity-seven year old Ramapo Valley Rd resident that was know to have an active warrant for his arrest issued out of the Oakland Municipal Court.  The offender was arrested without incident and transported to the Bergen County Jail to serve a fifty day term of imprisonment.

JUNE 20:  While investigating a complaint of a disturbance on Mohawk Ave which included an anonymous tip of a Wanted Person being involved, Officer Donald Harvey located a twenty-five year old male who was found to be wanted out of Passaic County.  The offender was taken into custody without incident and turned over into the custody of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.
