On March 3, 2013 Ptl. Harvey and Ptl. Noury were dispatched to Krauszer’s Food Store for a reported shoplifter. The officers’ investigation determined that the suspect, a 24 year old Oakland resident, had concealed merchandise in his jacket pocket and when confronted by a store employee, fled the scene. He was apprehended a short distance away on Raritan Road by Ptl. Harvey and placed under arrest. He was transported to HQ, charged with a single count of shoplifting and released on his own recognizance.
On March 8, 2013 as a result of an erratic driver complaint out of Mahwah where a concerned citizen reported observing a vehicle strike a snow mound on Ramapo Valley Road, Ptl. Noury stopped the suspect’s vehicle and located two outstanding arrest warrants for the driver totaling $1,408.00. The 35 year old Spring Valley, NY resident was arrested and transported to HQ. Bail was posted in full and the driver was later released.
On March 13, 2013 a Walnut Street resident reported that an unknown individual used her credit card to make an unauthorized charge for $150.00 on Walmart.com. Ptl. Harvey completed the initial investigation and referred the matter to the detective bureau for further review.
