On the Job – March 24

On March 17, 2011 as a result of a short pursuit on Bauer Drive of an all-terrain vehicle that nearly struck the officer’s patrol car, Ptl. Gary Gusterson charged a 22 year old Franklin Lakes resident with eluding an officer and several motor vehicle violations.  The pursuit, which occurred on March 16, 2011, ended when the officer lost sight of the vehicle in a wooded area off of Potash Road .  The investigation continued into the next day when officers located the all terrain vehicle in the back of a pick-up truck traveling on Page Drive .  This information led the officers to a residence in Franklin Lakes and resulted in charges being lodged against the resident and the ATV being impounded. The matter is scheduled to be heard at an undetermined date in the Bergen County Superior Court.

exxonOn March 19, 2011 Ptl. Keenan was dispatched to the Ramapo Exxon station on a reported assault.  As a result of the officer’s investigation, it was determined that a 35 year old Oakland resident was punched in the head by a customer who thought it was ridiculous that you’re not allowed to pump your own gas in New Jersey.  The suspect fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival in a vehicle bearing a New York registration.  The matter remains under investigation.
