The vehicle that fled the scene, a red pick-up truck with a motorcycle in the back, was soon located behind Hansil’s bar by Ptl. O’Neill. The officer questioned the driver and learned that he fled the scene due to his driver’s license being suspended and the fact that he did not have motor vehicle insurance.  He was escorted back to headquarters where it was discovered that the 51 year old Mt. Upton, NY driver had previously been convicted of driving while suspended while having been suspended or revoked for a second or subsequent violation of driving while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.  Additional charges included leaving the scene of an accident, driving an uninspected vehicle, driving a vehicle with fictitious license plates and failure to produce required documents. He was released ROR and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
