On February 23, 2013 as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Academy Circle, Ptl. Harvey arrested the 22 year old driver for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Additional charges included reckless driving and failure to keep right. The man was later released into the custody of a responsible party and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On February 28, 2013 a Massasoit Trail resident reported that over the course of the past two months miscellaneous items valued at approximately $19,000.00 were stolen from his residence while work was being performed by several contractors. Ptl. O’Keefe investigated.
On February 28, 2013, Ptl. O’Neill and Ptl. Noury were dispatched to the Bank of America to investigate a reported stolen credit card. The complainant reported that while she was inside the bank attempting to cancel her debit card, which she thought she had misplaced, she was informed by the teller that the card had just been used at the ATM machine outside the bank. It was soon determined that the card was utilized by her friend, who was waiting in the car in the parking lot, to withdraw $300.00 from the complainant’s account. The 40 year old Rutherford resident was taken into custody without incident and charged with numerous offenses including credit card theft, the fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of a hypodermic syringe and the possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Oxycodone). Bail was set at $20,000.00 with a 10% option. She was transported to the Bergen County jail in lieu of posting bail.
On March 2, 2013 as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Edison Avenue, Ptl. Kern arrested the 49 year old driver for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additional charges included failure to keep right, reckless driving, driving with a suspended driver’s license and a criminal charge for operating a motor vehicle on the revoked list after having your license suspended for a previous DWI. He was released on his own recognizance after processing. A March 2013 court date has been scheduled.
