onthejob2On February 18, 2012 as a result of an investigation initiated into a suspicious vehicle parked near Truman soccer field, Ptl. Docwra arrested three juveniles for the possession of marijuana and other drug-related offenses.

In addition to the drug possession charges, the 17 year old driver of the vehicle was also issued several motor vehicle summonses, one of them for having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

All of the juveniles were released into the custody of their respective parents/guardians and will answer to the charges in the Bergen County Superior Court, Family Division.

On February 28, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Yawpo Avenue where a vehicle struck a utility pole, Ptl. O’Neill arrested a 26 year old Oakland resident and charged her with driving under the influence.

A drug recognition expert from Mahwah P.D. assisted in the investigation and determined that the driver was under the influence of both prescription medications and alcohol. She was processed and released into the custody of a family member and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

On March 2, 2012 officers were dispatched to a business on West Oakland Ave. on a reported fight. Upon their arrival, the officers determined that an altercation had taken place between coworkers which resulted in two employees being struck with a ceramic coffee mug. Both employees sustained moderate to severe head injuries and were transported to local hospitals.

The offender, a 58 year old female resident of Passaic , was arrested on-scene by Ptl. Rowin and transported to HQ. She was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and a single count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. She was later released after posting 10% of bail set at $20,000.
