On the Job – May 13, 2014


opdonthejobMAY 5:   Officer Gary Fiore investigated a Theft complaint from a Commanche Trail resident where a safe was reportedly removed.  The victim stated he lost important personal financial and identification documents, as well as approximately three thousand dollars in cash.  Report filed.

MAY 6:   A motorist from Park Ridge reported that while traveling on Navajo Way, his back pack fell from the rear of his work truck, and by the time he was able to turn around to retrieve his bag it was no longer there.  While searching for the bag a resident reported that she observed an unknown male in a white pickup truck take the bag and flee the area.  Report taken by Det. MAY 7:  While on patrol Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Sioux Ave that resulted in the arrest of a forty-three year old male Oakland resident for multiple active traffic warrants from Mahwah and Ringwood, NJ, as well as being a Wanted Person by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department.  The offender was also found to be operating with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license.  The offender was taken into custody, processed, and later released into the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.

MAY 7:  Det. Mark Piercy investigated a complaint made by the Assistant Principal at Indian Hills High School regarding a nineteen year old male student found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.  The suspect contraband was seized with criminal complaints pending from the still open investigation.

MAY 9:  An arrest was made of a fifty-three year old East Trenton male that was found to be involved in the previously reported cash exchange swindle at the Valley National Bank on April 10th.  Suspect information was developed by the Oakland Detective Bureau in conjunction with information provided by the Paterson Police Department.  The arrest was made by the East Trenton Police Department after a criminal complaint was issued by Det. Bart Pagerie.  The offender was unable to secure bail and was lodged in the Bergen County Jail awaiting a future court date.

MAY 10:  While on patrol Officer Keith Docwra located two suspicious males at the West Oakland Ave Boat Ramp.  A nineteen year old male Wyckoff resident, as well as an eighteen year old male Oakland resident were found to be in possession of marijuana and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia items.  Both individuals were taken into custody, processed, and later released on their own recognizances with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.  Officer Daniel Kern assisted.

MAY 11:  Officer Bryan Rowin located a seventy-two year old male Oakland resident with an active criminal warrant for his arrest at the Ramapo Lodge which was issued out of Old Tappan, NJ.  The arrestee was taken into custody, processed, and later released on his own recognizance.
