On May 5, 2012 Ptl. Docwra conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ramapo Valley Road on a vehicle that was being operated in an erratic manner. The driver, a 31 year old Jersey City resident, was determined to be under the influence of a prescription legend drug which impaired his ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, failure to keep right, being an unlicensed driver and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He was later released into the custody of a friend and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. Oakland ’s Drug Recognition Expert, Ptl. Tim Keenan, assisted in the investigation.
On May 6, 2012 Ptl. Noury’s investigation into a vehicle that was illegally parked in a handicap stall in the parking lot of Krauszer’s led to the arrest of a 21 year old Edison resident and a 20 year old Morristown man for numerous drug offenses. The officer’s investigation uncovered approximately 2.5 ounces of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the glove compartment of the illegally parked vehicle. Charges included the possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and the possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Bail was set a $5000.00 with a 10% option for the passenger who was later released on bail. The driver was subsequently turned over to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department on an outstanding $1000.00 warrant. Both individuals are scheduled to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court in May, 2012.
Is the pot picture really necessary? Especially considering that the first report was about someone on prescription medications?
