On the Job – May 2, 2016


policebuildingAPRIL 18: While on patrol a broadcast was put out for a shoplifting that just occurred at the Oakland Wine & Liquors and that the offender had fled the scene. The suspect was not located during the initial search of the area but was later observed at the Copper Tree Mall by Dispatcher John de la Rosa. Officers were summoned and after a brief investigation, the 56-year-old male resident of Oakland was taken into custody by Officer Ryan O’Keefe. The offender was charged with Shoplifting and later released from custody on his own recognizance. Sgt. Keith Sanzari assisted with the investigation.

APRIL 21: Officer Luis Gaviria located a 21-year-old male that was seated in the Oakland Municipal Court and known to have an active warrant issued by the Rockaway Township Municipal Court. The offender was arrested, processed, and later turned over into the custody of the Rockaway Township Police Department for final disposition.

APRIL 24: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin observed a 24-year-old Oakland resident seated as a passenger in a motor vehicle who was known to have multiple active criminal warrants for her arrest issued out of Oakland, Clifton, and Paramus NJ. A stop of the vehicle was initiated on West Oakland Ave and the offender was taken into custody, processed, and later lodged in the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail. Officers Michael Griffin and Luis Gaviria assisted.

APRIL 25: While on patrol, Officer Michael Griffin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Indian Rd, Wayne NJ, which resulted in the arrest of a Wayne, NJ resident who was a Wanted Person out of Morris County. The 27-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later turned over into the custody of the Morris County Sheriff’s Department for final disposition.

APRIL 30: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Ramapo Valley Road that resulted in the arrest of a Wayne, NJ resident for an active traffic warrant issued from the Cedar Grove Municipal Court. The 61-year-old male was taken into custody and later released on his own recognizance by the Cedar Grove Police Department.
