On the Job – May 24, 2016


policecarMAY 15: While on patrol a broadcast was put out for a shoplifting that just occurred at the Oakland Shop-Rite and the offenders were leaving the scene. Officers Bart Pagerie and Gary Fiore responded to investigate and upon their arrival two male parties were located and identified by store management to be the offenders. Subsequently, the encounter resulted in the arrest of both parties. A 44-year-old male resident of Paterson was taken into custody for the theft and was also found to have an active warrant issued out of the Glen Rock Municipal Court. The second actor, a 39-year-old male resident also of Paterson was taken into custody for the theft and a search incident to arrest yielded possession of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia on his person. It was also determined that the offender provided a false identity and after further investigation he was determined to be a Wanted Person out of Passaic County for an open Burglary offense and Child Support in excess of $50,000. Both parties were remanded to the Bergen County Jail. Officer Daniel Kern assisted with the investigation.

MAY 18: While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on West Oakland Avenue that resulted in the arrest of a Spring Valley, NY resident for multiple active warrants issued from the Alpine and Elizabeth Municipal Courts. The 49-year-old male was taken into custody and later released on his own recognizance by both agencies.

MAY 19: While on patrol Officer Luis Gaviria initiated a traffic stop on I-287 which resulted in the arrest of the 20-year-old male resident of Wyckoff, NJ for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia . The offender was taken into custody, processed and later released on his own recognizance.
