On the Job – May 27, 2014


opdonthejob1MAY 20:  While on patrol, Officer Stephen Broek initiated a motor vehicle stop on Iron Horse Rd that resulted in the arrest of a twenty-nine year old female Wayne, NJ resident for an active traffic warrant issued out of Saddle Brook, NJ.  The offender was also found to be operating with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license.  The offender was taken into custody, processed, and later released on her own recognizance.

MAY 20:  Officer Stephen Broek was dispatched to the Oakland Motor Vehicle Commission for a twenty-two year old male Bergenfield, NJ resident who was found to have an active Criminal arrest warrant issued out of Hackensack, NJ.  The offender was taken into custody, and during processing was found to be in possession of less than fifty grams of suspected marijuana as well as a switchblade knife, a prohibited weapon.  The offender was charged appropriately and later turned over to the Hackensack Police Department when bail could not be secured for the active warrant.

MAY 23:  Officer Daniel Kern investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident stated that he discovered his identity was compromised when the IRS contacted him regarding a tax return that was submitted in his name without his knowledge or consent.  Report filed.

MAY 24:  Officer Keith Docwra investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft.  The resident stated that she discovered her identity was compromised when her tax return was rejected for being a duplicate as a return was already processed in her name without her knowledge or consent.  The incident was reported to the IRS by the victim.  Report filed.

MAY 26:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin located an Oakland resident with an active criminal warrant for his arrest walking along Ramapo Valley Rd which was issued out of Glen Rock, NJ.  The thirty-seven year old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on his own recognizance.
