On the Job – May 28, 2013


policecaroldOn May 16, 2013 officers were dispatched to Shop-Rite for a reported shoplifter.  Upon arrival, the officers met with store security who identified a 64 year old patron who had reportedly concealed $318.19 worth of merchandise under bags in her shopping cart. She was stopped after she paid for some items and not for others. The Oakland resident was placed under arrest and charged with the fourth degree crime of shoplifting. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on her own recognizance.  Ptl. Ryan O’Keefe investigated.

On May 23, 2013 Sgt. O’Neill and Ptl. Harvey arrested a 20 year old Oakland resident at a residence on Ramapo Valley Road who was known to have an outstanding arrest warrant.  Bail had been previously set at $50,000.00. The subject was transported to headquarters and subsequently turned over into the custody of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department who transported the man to the Bergen County Jail.

On May 24, 2013 a Nokomis Ave. resident reported that her wallet and checkbook were stolen from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked in front of her house. Ptl. Catenacci investigated.
