On the Job – November 19, 2013


counterfeitOn November 8, 2013 officers were dispatched to Walgreens on a report of an individual attempting to make a purchase utilizing suspected counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.  Officer Docwra responded and apprehended the suspect who was still on scene. The officer’s investigation confirmed the store manager’s suspicions regarding the authenticity of the currency. The suspect, along with two of his accomplices who were located in a nearby vehicle, were subsequently arrested. A small amount of suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle as well.  Charges included forgery, conspiracy, theft by deception and the possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  All of the subjects; a 21 year old male Hillside, NJ resident, a 22 year old male Irvington, NJ resident and a 22 year old Brooklyn, NY resident were remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting $20,000.00 bail. Acting Sgt. Tim Keenan and Ptl. Pianettini assisted in the investigation.

On November 10, 2013 as a result of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Ramapo Valley Road and Franklin Ave, Ptl. Harvey arrested a 24 year old Riverdale, NJ resident for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later released into the custody of a family member.  A court date has been scheduled in the Oakland Municipal Court.  Ptl.
