On the Job – September 5, 2012


opdonthejobOn August 18, 2012 Ptl. Harvey conducted a motor vehicle stop on Skyline Drive after observing the vehicle being operated in an erratic manner.  The driver, a 49 year old Ringwood resident, was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.  She was charged with numerous motor vehicle violations which included D.W.I. and reckless driving.  She was later released and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

On two separate occasions and within four days of one another
, officers’ arrested the same 45 year old Fair Lawn, NJ man and charged him with D.W.I and related offenses.  The first arrest occurred on August 20, 2012 when Ptl. Catenacci stopped the individual on Oak Street for erratic driving and failure to keep right. The second offense occurred on August 24, 2012 when Ptl. Rowin stopped the individual on Ramapo Valley Road as he exited Navajo Way .  The two arrests resulted in numerous charges against the driver including two counts of DWI, DWI in a school zone, refusing to submit to the Alcotest, refusing to submit to the Alcotest in a school zone, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance (suspected cocaine) and the possession of drug paraphernalia (a suspected crack pipe).  The second arrest resulted in bail being set at $2500.00, with no 10% option.  He was subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of posting bail and is due to appear for a first appearance in the Oakland Municipal Court in early September 2012.

On August 24, 2012 Ptl. Broek, Ptl. Kern and Ptl. O’Neill were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Oakland First Aid Squad. Their inquiry resulted in the arrest of a 19 year old Wyckoff man for the possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  He was transported to HQ, processed and later released.
