Rabid Cat Alert


rabiesshotAnimal Control recently picked up a cat displaying aggressive behavior in the Roosevelt-Truman Boulevard vicinity. The Board of Health has received confirmation from the State Health Department that the cat tested positive for furious rabies, an aggressive form of the disease.Residents should not be feeding stray cats and anyone found doing so should be immediately reported to the Police Dept. at 201-337-6171.

Be sure your pets are vaccinated and rabies vaccinations are up to date. If you are unsure of your pet’s rabies vaccination status, have your pet given a booster shot.

Keep garage doors closed at all times.
