Al Gunderson is well qualified to serve on RBARI’s Board. After 38 years on the police force in a Bergen county municipality, Al ran a local public animal shelter until it was privatized. He is a founding member of an organization that deals with retired military working dogs and their placement in private homes after their service to the country.
RBARI’s mission is to provide humane treatment to all cats and dogs, including proper care, respect, and safe shelter. In fulfillment of its mission, RBARI provides sanctuary while finding permanent, loving homes for the many animals that come to them, including feral, elderly, handicapped, and formerly abused animals. These animals receive lots of love in addition to shelter, food, and medical care. RBARI adheres to a “NO-KILL” policy, giving animals an open-ended stay at a warm, safe place until loving homes can be found.
