RVBC Announces New Pastor

Oakland NJHaving done most things associated with living a full, rewarding life, Pastor Herb Dorfman now takes on a new challenge as Pastor of the Ramapo Valley Baptist Church in Oakland, NJ. A minister for 50 years with 600 sermons behind him, Pastor Herb has been the interim pastor for the last year and is now officially assuming the position. His previous pastoral work over the decades in Paterson, Hamburg and Wayne have now brought him back to service in the FLOW area where he once taught history at Ramapo High School.

Pastor Herb brings not only spiritual guidance and leadership, but the life experience learned through being a husband, father and grandfather. The diversity of his life, which involves missions to Nicaragua and working in corporate America, provide a breadth of knowledge by which daily life is seen through the prism of the spiritual.

Ramapo Valley Baptist Church is celebrating its 50th anniversary, which is one shy of Pastor Herb’s marriage. The church invites new members to partake of a Christian worship that incorporates music and children into the service. A community of faith, congregants come from surrounding towns to be a part of a warm welcoming community that is now being led by a warm, welcoming new pastor.
