Franklin Lakes is the new locale for the successful television show Real Housewives of New Jersey. A pair of sisters who married brothers, and their sister-in-law, are three of the five new housewives in the television series that premieres May 12th. The plot line takes a twist as previous incarnations of the show have not incorporated women who were friends, much less related. The docu-soap series is expected to offer the same feisty, extroverted personalities that can create drama for television viewers.
The eye of the reality camera lens, and the skill exercised in the editing room, can often lead to tender insights and cringing moments of embarrassment. Previous Real Housewives have included significant footage of the children, and that can be a learning experience for both. This dynamic is explored in the beginning of the season as a woman’s two sons discuss their futures, one looking forward to a career in law, and the other as the owner of a “gentleman’s club”.
Other previews hint at the provocative, embarrassing, and sometimes silly personal exposures that provide that Peeping Tom satisfaction to the show. The beginning of the season follows another storyline where one of the women plan’s a date with a man whom she has only had a phone “relationship”.
The fourth installment of the network’s “Real Housewives” will kick off on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 following the season finale of “The Real Housewives of New York City.” The series will then assume the Tuesday, 10:00 lot the following week.
