It happened in Oakland, but it felt like a thousand miles away, as The Ramapo Music Academy performed their spring recital in the cool confines of the RVBC on Saturday afternoon.
Under the direction of Christine Lovette, students of all ages staged piano and vocal performances in their annual Spring Recital. Fourteen students performed pieces of different genres, but it was two of the youngest who were sent up first to get the crowd warmed up. Kenny Easton, age six, performed three pieces on the piano to great applause. He was followed by Brian Meeth who wow’d the audience with an original composition entitled “Spring”.
Kenny’s mom, Mindi sang the classic, “A Thousand Miles”, while local high school students Kara Fobian, Emily Locklear and Julia Rivera sang “Another Day”, “Thankful” and “Gratitude” respectively. Other student performers included: Jason Arokiaraj, Safia Al-Rawi, Jonathan Reisch, Shanan McGraw, Annie Elfers, Nicole Palin, Alexandra Glembocki and Nao Maeda.
