It was 5 years ago this April when we started The Oakland Journal, well before the idea of citizen journalism had become mainstreamed.
We had a vision at that time of offering a new platform for providing information about Oakland – but more importantly, we saw it as a celebration of Oakland.
There are always times when it seems things can’t get any better, and times when we know it should be a lot better – that’s life. The last five years have been chock full of life – good and bad – but it’s the good that carries us from one day to the next.
To all our readers, our contributors, and to all of Oakland, we offer a big thank you on our 5th anniversary.
Below is a video that might remind you of some good times, some bad times, but in the end it’s a celebration of Oakland over the last five years. (Click here to watch video on Youtube)
Sincerely,
Charlie & Caron McCormick
