August Kindergarten Kickoff Event at the Oakland Public Library/Children’s Dept.
The Children’s Dept. of the Oakland Public Library will host the Fourteenth Annual Kindergarten Kickoff on Wednesday, August 24 in the Library. This is an opportunity for those children entering schools in Oakland to meet their classmates prior to the first day of school. Meeting times are as follows: Manito (10:00-11:00 a.m.), Heights (11:15-12:15 p.m.), and Dogwood Hill (1:00-2:00 p.m.). A special story time and gift-for-teacher craft is planned. (All kindergartners are asked to bring a wallet-sized photo of themselves for their teacher craft.) Registration begins Tuesday, August 9.
