Recently, Manito Elementary School Principal Adam Silverstein joined the Leaders are Readers program at the Oakland, NJ Public Library. Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students were invited to be entertained and educated. And Mr.Silverstein did not let them down.
The 3 books he chose to read were Mia Hamm’s Winners Never Quit, and Madonna’s The English Roses and Mr. Peabody’s Apples. The kids loved each of the books and Mr. Silverstein got them all to put on their thinking caps to figure out which Pillars of Character were illustrated in each story. Needless to say the kids all raised their hands and provided the correct answers and more. It seems as though Mr. Silverstein’s Character Counts program is working very well.
Keep reading over the Summer!
