Mid-Hudson Valley hike with the ADK
Avid hiker and hike leader of the Adirondack Mountain Club, Peter Reiner, will be at the Oakland Library, located at 2 Municipal Plaza, Oakland, NJ, on Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 PM to present ” The Joys of Hiking, How to Get Started.” This program will cover details about a typical hike, how hikes are rated in terms of length and difficulty, what to bring along, appropriate clothing, how to use NY/NJ Trail Conference Maps along with GPS devices to locate your position and how to relate GPS coordinates to the trail maps.
The program will include a slide show of the trails and vistas in the lower Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey .
