Worischeck Field on Truman Blvd. Quietly Undergoing a Make-Over

Indian Hills High School senior and soccer player Kevin Halloran took on the task to do some improvements to Worischeck Field on Truman Blvd. as an Eagle Scout project.  Included in the project are two permanent benches for both the home and away teams, a beautiful new shed and other field fix-ups.

Shown above is the shed, including a message board and welcome sign.  The shed allows soccer flags and other items to be safely stored.  Previously coaches had to go to the recreation complex before and after each game to return the flags.  With the new shed Worischeck Field on Truman Blvd now has the ability to be a self sustaining atheletic field.

Generous donations to pay for the project were given by the Sports Association of Oakland, Oakland Strikers Soccer Club and Arzee Supply Corp in Mahwah, NJ  and some supplies donated by Wagoner and Son Construction of Oakland, NJ; as this venture cost the tax payers ZERO dollars.

The Recreation Commission and soccer community wishes to thank Kevin for a job well done.  If any other prospective Eagle Scouts or others need community service projects to complete their mission, please feel free to contact Recreation Commission Chairman Mike Guadagnino at CoachGuad@aol.com for some possible recreation ideas.
