The Oakland Public Library recently exhibited the work from children who took art classes organized by the Sports Association of Oakland. The artwork was all based on well known artists and movements from art history including Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keefe, Edvard Munch and more! The classes based the projects done with learning about different artists and artistic styles to give children their first step towards appreciating and creating art and culture. The Mini Picasso and Basic Drawing for Middle Schoolers classes were taught by Oakland resident Tracy DiTolla. She currently teaches art and art history at Warren County Community College and exhibits regularly in northern New Jersey.
The Sports Association of Oakland has put together a variety of classes that now run in the Fall and Spring including art, drama, creative writing, photography and Zumba for children, teens and adults.
