Peter Kikot’s Letter to the Residents of Oakland

To All Residents of Oakland,

I want to thank everyone who voted, be it for me or my opponents – when you vote it means you care.

This election was a lot of work, but for me, it was worth every minute.  I learned a great deal about our community, our businesses, our parks, open spaces, our administration and employees – and most of all our council.

I ran an honest, dedicated campaign, focused on the issues, – so that in itself is a win.  Although, I did not win a seat on the council, I continue to believe in those issues.

My campaign for Borough Council has already unofficially begun, and so should yours. If we all believe we can make a difference in our community, then we all can. Whether it is as a volunteer, a concerned citizen, or just a neighbor talking to neighbor, we can all make a difference whether we win a seat on the council or just keep standing for what we believe.

Again, thank you to all those who supported my campaign, and to all those who voted in the election of 2012.

Sincerely,

Peter Kikot
