DR. AMARJOT NARULA NAMED ONE OF “BERGEN’S TOP DOCTORS”
Dr. Amarjot S. Narula, West Bergen Mental Healthcare’s Medical Director, has been named one of “Bergen’s Top Doctors” by Key Professional Media Inc., a leading researcher and publisher of Super Doctors. The honor was featured in an article published recently in (201) Health Magazine. Candidates for this prestigious recognition were evaluated by a blue ribbon panel on indicators of peer recognition, professional achievement and history.
Dr. Narula has served as West Bergen’s Medical Director since January, 1996, and has been affiliated with the Agency since 1988. In addition to this position, he also maintains a private practice in Ridgewood with a specialty in geriatric psychiatry. Active in the New Jersey Psychiatric Association for several years, Dr. Narula was elected President for the 2008-09 term of this association, comprised of 1,000 physicians qualified by training and experience in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Narula has also held leadership positions at facilities including The Valley Hospital, Barnert Hospital and Bergen Regional Medical Center. He has also been a consultant to various nursing facilities in the area. He has received numerous awards and recognitions and was named one of the top doctors in the New York metropolitan area by the Castle Connolly guide.
Originally from India and an active member of the Sikh congregation in Glen Rock, Dr. Narula is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is a Diplomate in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
