UPDATE: Authorities in Passaic County have confirmed the identity of the occupant discovered in a submerged car in the Monksville Reservoir as Cathy Ann DeBono; no cause of death has been determined. The car was found submerged in 18 feet of water, about 30 yards offshore of the boat ramp, On June 12th.

It was just over five years ago, Easter Sunday in 2008, that Cathy Ann Debono of Oakland, NJ was reported missing.
According to reports in The Record at the time, “Cathy Ann Debono drove away in her white Toyota Camry with license plate NTV96F about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday but was not carrying her purse or cell phone.”
Yesterday, June 12, 2013, West Milford divers on an exercise drill discovered that car at the bottom of the Monksville Reservoir in West Milford, NJ.
It is expected that the Passiac Medical Examiner will confirm that the body discovered in the car is that of Cathy Debono who would have been 55 years old this September.
