Christmas Eve tragedy came to the FLOW region with a fatal car accident that killed Larry Sephton, 50, owner of Double L Landscaping in Franklin Lakes, and hospitalized John Iskahanian, 20, an Indian Hills alumni and former football team member.

Many residents in both Oakland and Franklin Lakes are familiar with the McCoy & Colonial Road intersection as a hill there allows little time for seeing oncoming cars. Articles in The Bergen Record and The Star Ledger report that Sephton was attempting to make the left onto Colonial Road and was broadsided by Iskahanian’s car.

Larry Sephton was pronounced dead at the scene, and Iskahanian was rushed to surgery suffering internal injuries.

I went to school with Larry Sephton 1973-78, saw him last in ’89 – sorry to read about this.
