Mayor Linda Schwager stepped up to the plate and met Rec Chair, Mike Guadagnino’s ice bucket challenge to help raise awareness and funds to help us create a world without ALS! Mayor Schwager, in turn nominated Oakland Borough Administrator Rich Kunze, her fellow Mayors of the Northwest Mayors Group, and her fellow Rotarians from the Franklin Lakes and Oakland Rotary Club. Mayor Schwager also is “definitely donating to the very worthy cause.”
The campaign has taken social media by storm and as of Tuesday, August 19, The ALS Association has received $22.9 million in donations compared to $1.9 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 19).
