On the Job – April 14, 2014


opdonthejobAPRIL 5:  Ptl. Michael Catenacci was dispatched to the area of Yawpo Ave. to investigate a complaint involving nonpayment of cab fare by a thirty-two year old male Oakland resident.  While on scene the matter of payment was resolved however an active traffic warrant was located for the subject out of Mahwah in the amount of $250.  The male subject posted cash bail on scene and was released shortly thereafter.

APRIL 9: While on patrol Det. Bart Pagerie initiated a motor vehicle stop on Grove St. for observed traffic offenses that resulted in the arrest of a seventeen year old male Oakland resident for possession of Marijuana and Marijuana Paraphernalia.  Multiple motor vehicle summonses were issued and Juvenile Criminal Complaints to be prepared by the Oakland Police Department’s Juvenile Bureau.  Assistance during the investigation provided by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit.

APRIL 9: Ptl. Luis Gaviria investigated a complaint made by a Ringwood resident of stolen and forged checks that were cashed at the Bank of America.  Report taken and matter referred to the Oakland Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

APRIL 9: Ptl. Luis Gaviria investigated a third party complaint of stolen property made by a caretaker for a Crosby Ln. resident.  Investigation to continue when the victim can respond to the Oakland Police Department for a report.

APRIL 10:    Ptl. Bryan Rowin investigated a complaint of a cash exchange swindle that occurred at the Valley National Bank.  Report taken and matter referred to the Oakland Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

APRIL 11:    While on patrol Ptl. Keith Docwra initiated a motor vehicle stop on I-287 that resulted in the arrest of a twenty-seven year old male Saddle Brook resident for an active $500 traffic warrant.  The offender was also found to be operating with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license.  Multiple motor vehicle summonses were issued, and the offender was later released after posting bail to satisfy the active warrant.

APRIL 11:  Sgt. Keith Sanzari was dispatched to the Oakland Motor Vehicle Commission for a fifty-nine year old female Bloomfield, NJ resident who was found to have active arrest warrants totaling $1083 out of Greenbrook and Montclair, NJ.  Female party later released on her own recognizances after the warrants were satisfied.

APRIL 11:   Ptl. Donald Harvey was dispatched to a Doty Rd. residence to investigate a theft of numerous potted plants stolen from the property.  Report taken.

APRIL 12:  Ptl. Stephen Broek investigated a Fraud complaint made by an Oakland resident involving her TD Bank account being compromised.   The Ramapo Valley Rd. resident reported that her debit card was used without her consent to make numerous eBay purchases that were paid for through a secondary PayPal account linked to her debit card that she was not aware of.  Report taken and matter referred to the Oakland Police Department’s Detective Bureau.
