policebuildingAPRIL 21:   Officer Daniel Kern investigated a complaint of Criminal Mischief to a motor vehicle that was parked at the Shop Rite of Oakland.  The victim, an employee at the store, reported her vehicle sustained an undetermined amount of damage and that she was the second employee recently victimized.  The matter remains under investigation.

APRIL 22:   Officer Stephen Broek investigated a complaint of Criminal Mischief to a vehicle belonging to a Skyline Dr. resident.  The victim reported that the rear tire was tampered with resulting in it falling off while in use causing damage to the vehicle.

APRIL 22:  Officer Bryan Rowin arrested a seventy-two year old Oakland resident at the Ramapo Lodge on an arrest warrant out of Wayne, NJ for a theft of a motor vehicle.  The arrestee was processed and then turned over to Wayne PD for final disposition.

APRIL 23: Officer Luis Gaviria investigated a complaint of Criminal Mischief at the New Jersey Japanese School.  The school reported that it appeared that a window was broken by a rock and it was unknown if it was intentional or accidental.  Report filed.

APRIL 23: Officer Michael Catenacci investigated a complaint of a stolen bicycle from a Calumet Avenue resident.  The bicycle was left by a juvenile unsecured near Valley Middle School and was stolen sometime during school hours.  Report filed.

APRIL 24:  Officer Gary Gusterson investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of fraud and possibly identity theft.  The resident stated that her Verizon Wireless account was compromised and that cell phones were ordered in her name without her knowledge.  The incident was reported to Verizon who assisted in canceling the phones and due to her taking quick action regarding the incident never experienced any financial loss.  Report filed.

APRIL 25:    Officer Daniel Kern investigated a complaint of a stolen bicycle from a Roosevelt Boulevard resident.  The bicycle was stored during the off-season on the residents property and discovered to be missing when he went to use it.  Report filed.

APRIL 25:   Officer Donald Harvey and Sgt. Keith Sanzari assisted the West Milford Police Department with the apprehension of two robbery suspects.  A vehicle description was broadcasted via the Statewide Police Emergency Network and Officer Harvey located it traveling down Skyline Drive where he initiated a motor vehicle stop.  Both occupants, residents of West Milford, were taken into custody and turned over to West Milford PD for final disposition.

APRIL 26:   Officer Keith Docwra investigated a complaint of a shoplifting at the Sally Beauty Supply store on Ramapo Valley Road.   The owner of the store stated he observed a suspicious male exiting the store with some merchandise concealed under his jacket.  When confronted, the unknown white male apologized, handed back the property, and fled in a vehicle parked near the store.  The owner was able to provide a description of the male actor as well as the plate on the vehicle he left in.  Matter currently under investigation.
