On the Job – August 27, 2014


opdonthejob1AUGUST 18:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Ramapo Valley Road that resulted in the arrest of a Bloomingdale, NJ resident for an active traffic warrant issued from the Basking Ridge Municipal Court.  The 50-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

AUGUST 18:  While on patrol, Officer Edward McDermott investigated a motor vehicle crash at the Copper Tree Mall.  During the investigation one of the involved parties was found to have an active traffic warrant in their name which was issued by the Emerson Municipal Court.  The 41-year-old male was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

AUGUST 19:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin located an Oakland resident that was known to have an active traffic warrant issued out of the Ringwood Municipal Court, walking along Ramapo Valley Road.  The 43-year-old male was taken into custody and turned over to the Ringwood Police Department when bail could not be secured for his release.

AUGUST 19:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Hillside Ave. that resulted in the arrest of a Park Ridge, NJ resident for an active traffic warrant issued from the Emerson Municipal Court.  The 32-year-old female was taken into custody, processed, and later released on her own recognizance’s.

AUGUST 21:  Officer Joseph Noury arrested a 32-year-old Branchville, NJ resident who was seated in the Oakland Municipal Court for two active criminal warrants issued by the Newton and Rockaway Township Municipal Courts.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later turned over to Rockaway Township when he was unable to post bail for his release.

AUGUST 22:  Officers Joseph Noury and Edward McDermott responded to Hansil’s Bar & Grill to investigate the complaint of a dispute.  It was determined that individuals on scene were trying to prevent an intoxicated patron from operating a motor vehicle when an argument began.  As a result of the incident, Officer Noury arrested a 40-year-old female resident of Reno, Nevada for Driving Under the Influence, and Officer McDermott arrested her companion, a 53-year-old male resident of Oakland for the criminal offenses of Disorderly Conduct and Obstruction.  The offenders were transported to headquarters, processed, and later released with a pending court date set in the Oakland Municipal Court.  Sgt. Paul O’Keefe assisted.

AUGUST 22:  While on patrol, Officer Bryan Rowin initiated a motor vehicle stop on Minnehaha Blvd. for en equipment violation which resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old Bergenfield, NJ resident for an active criminal warrant issued by the Paramus Municipal Court, as well as a 23-year-old female resident of Oakland for an active traffic warrant issued by the Oakland Municipal Court.  Both parties were taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail posted by an acquaintance.
