On the Job – February 18, 2015


opdonthejobFEBRUARY 11:  While on patrol a broadcast was put out for a shoplifting that just occurred at the Oakland Shop-Rite and the offenders fled the scene.  After the description of the vehicle and actors were put out Officer Bryan Rowin located the parties on Ramapo Valley and initiated a motor vehicle stop.  Subsequently the encounter resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old female resident of Wayne, and a 28-year-old male resident of Paterson for the attempted theft of over $1000 worth of merchandise from Shop-Rite, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia, and active warrants for both parties which included the male being a wanted person by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department.  Both offenders were remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $20,000 bail.  Sgt. Michael O’Neill, and Officers Thomas Pianettini and Michael Griffin assisted with the investigation.

FEBRUARY 12:  While on patrol Officer Joseph Noury investigated a traffic accident which resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old Passaic, NJ resident for Driving Under the Influence.  The female offender was processed and later released from custody to an acquaintance with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

FEBRUARY 12:  Officer Daniel Kern investigated a complaint of harassment by an employee at a place of business in the Copper Tree Mall.  The female victim stated that a former coworker was sending gifts, waiting for her in the parking lot after work, and refusing to end the unwanted attention.  Report taken.

FEBRUARY 14:    While on patrol Officer Joseph Noury investigated a traffic accident which resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old Oakland, NJ resident for Driving Under the Influence.  The juvenile male offender was processed and later released from custody to his father with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
