JULY 4: Officers Bryan Rowin and Michael Griffin along with Detective Mark Piercy were dispatched to Doty Rd to investigate a complaint of a possible robbery that just occurred. During the course of the investigation it was determined that an ongoing dispute over a bicycle had been taking place between a 32-year-old male resident of Oakland, and a 35-year-old male resident of Pompton Lakes, NJ and that a physical altercation took place between the parties. Actual ownership of the bicycle was in question and both parties claimed it was theirs. The bicycle was seized for safekeeping until ownership could be determined and the resident from Pompton Lakes was arrested for Criminal Trespass. The offender was processed and later released on his own recognizance.
JULY 9: While on patrol Officer Michael Griffin initiated a traffic stop on Skyline Drive involving an erratic driver which resulted in the arrest of a 51-year-old Ringwood, NJ resident for Driving Under the Influence. The female offender was processed and later released from custody to a family member with a court date set to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
