The resident stated that he discovered his identity was compromised when he learned that someone already filed a tax return in his name without his knowledge or consent. The incident was reported to the IRS by the victim. Report filed.

MARCH 13: Officer Michael Catenacci investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of fraud. The resident stated that he discovered someone made an online purchase in his name through ebay/paypal without his knowledge or consent and he was now receiving a bill in excess of $1000. Report filed.

MARCH 14: Officer Stephen Broek investigated a walk in complaint regarding an Oakland resident being the victim of identity theft. The resident stated that she discovered her identity was compromised when she learned that someone already filed a tax return in her name without her knowledge or consent. The incident was reported to the IRS by the victim. Report filed.

MARCH 15: While investigating an activated fire alarm and smoke condition at a Ramapo Valley Road apartment, Ptl. Luis Gaviria found the tenant to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The 44-year-old male was taken into custody without incident, processed, and later released on a summons to later appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.
