On May 26, 2012 officers assisted the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department in locating an individual with an active warrant. The arrest took place on Iroquios Avenue when officers were en route to the man’s house on Shoshone Path. Officer Harvey recognized the man walking on the sidewalk and approached him. Upon doing so, the individual turned away from the officer and began to run. He was ordered to stop and surrendered to the officer’s commands. A search of the suspect, a 24 year old Oakland resident, revealed glassine packets of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was charged accordingly and turned over into the custody of the Sheriff’s Department. Sgt. Sanzari and Ptl. Keenan assisted.
On May 27, 2012 officers responded to a residence on Stony Point on the report of an unresponsive male. The officers soon located a 19 year old man who showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Several empty glassine baggies of suspected heroin and a hypodermic needle were located in close proximity to him. The Oakland resident was charged with the possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a hypodermic needle and with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released on his own recognizance and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Ptl. Gary Fiore and Ptl. Catenacci investigated.
