On October 5, 2013 Ptl. Rowin arrested a 34 year old Oakland man on Ramapo Valley Road who was known to have an outstanding warrant in the amount of $1000.00 out of Woodland Park, NJ. The subject was taken into custody, transported to police headquarters and processed before being turned over into the custody of the Woodland Park Police Department.
On October 5, 2013 as a result of the investigation into a reported hit and run motor vehicle crash on Grove Street, Ptl. Pianettini arrested a 59 year old Oakland woman who was determined to have been involved in the accident and later returned to the scene. She was transported to headquarters where she provided samples of her breath for chemical testing. After processing, she was released into the custody of a responsible family member and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court. Summonses for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving under the influence of alcohol were subsequently issued.
On October 13, 2013 Ptl. Docwra arrested a 36 year old Oakland resident for driving under the influence of alcohol on Ramapo Valley Road after receiving a report of an erratic driver from an off-duty police officer from another jurisdiction. The subject was field tested at the scene and transported to headquarters where he submitted samples of his breath for chemical analysis. Summonses were issued for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol in a school zone and failure to keep right. An October 2013 court date has been scheduled in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On October 15, 2013 Ptl. Broek investigated a reported motor vehicle crash on Yawpo Ave. at the intersection of McCoy Rd. and subsequently arrested one of the drivers, a 20 year old Oakland resident, for driving under the influence of a suspected narcotic. Additional charges included driving under the influence in a school zone, careless driving, the possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. Acting Sergeant Tim Keenan, a certified drug recognition expert, assisted in the investigation.
