On the Job – September 1, 2014


policecarAUGUST 28:  During the course of investigating a motor vehicle crash on Lakeshore Drive, Officer Daniel Kern arrested a 52-year-old resident of Ringwood, NJ for Driving Under The Influence.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later released to an acquaintance with a pending court date set in the Oakland Municipal Court.  Acting Sergeant timothy Keenan assisted with the investigation.

AUGUST 29:  An arrest was made of a 57-year-old Oakland resident following an investigation of a marijuana grow located on within the Borough of Oakland.  A private citizen initially located the contraband in a secluded area, notified the Oakland Police Department, and then the Detective Bureau set up electronic surveillance which captured the suspect tending to the plants.  The suspect was a known local resident and was taken into custody outside his place of residence.  The suspect was charged criminally in connection to the illegal grow and later released on his own recognizances after processing.  Det. Bart Pagerie, and Officers Frank Fiore, Stephen Broek, and Donald Harvey assisted with the investigation and arrest.

AUGUST 30:  While on patrol, Officer Luis Gaviria initiated a motor vehicle stop on Ramapo Valley Road that resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old resident of Andover, NJ for an active traffic warrant issued from the Howell, NJ Municipal Court.  The offender who also had a suspended license, was taken into custody, processed, and later released on bail.

AUGUST 31:  As a result of a civilian complaint regarding an erratically driven vehicle, Officer Joseph Noury arrested a 42-year-old resident of Hawthorne, NJ for Driving Under The Influence.  The offender was arrested, processed, and later released to an acquaintance with a pending court date set in the Oakland Municipal Court.
