On The Job – March 21, 2012

opdonthejobOn March 14, 2012 Ptl. Broek and Ptl. Catenacci were dispatched to investigate a complaint of drinking and disruptive behavior (littering) in the vicinity of the cul-de-sac on Lakeshore Drive .  Prior to the officers’ arrival, it was learned that the suspect had fled the area operating a black pick-up truck.  The individual was soon located by Ptl. Broek seated in his vehicle in his driveway on Truman Blvd.   As the officer began to question the suspect about the recent complaint, specifically the littering of beer cans onto the front lawn of a residence on Lakeshore Drive ; he detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath as he spoke.  The driver was asked to perform some standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed to satisfactorily complete.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to HQ for processing.  At HQ, the 32 year old Oakland resident refused to submit samples of his breath for chemical testing. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusing to submit to the Alcotest machine and littering. He was later released into the custody of a family member and given a date to appear in the Oakland Municipal Court.

On March 17, 2012 Sgt. Sanzari, Ptl. Keenan and Ptl. Docwra were dispatched to investigate a noise complaint on Seminole Ave.   Upon arrival, the officers determined that an underage drinking party had taken place at the residence when they noticed several juveniles stumbling in the roadway and on the property of the homeowner.  The juveniles were taken into custody and released to their respective parents/guardians.  After review by the juvenile officer, complaints will be served upon the offenders for the underage possession/consumption of alcohol.
