On July 15, 2011 Sgt. Sanzari was dispatched to a business located on Yawpo Ave. on the report of a woman vomiting from her vehicle. Sgt. Sanzari located the vehicle in question and approached the driver who appeared to be sleeping. After awakening her and engaging her in conversation, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath as she spoke to him. She was removed from her vehicle and instructed to perform some standardized field sobriety tests which she failed to successfully complete. The 41 year old Frankfort , NY woman was arrested and transported to headquarters where she refused to provide samples of her breath for chemical testing. She was charged with improper parking, DWI and refusing to submit to the Alcotest. An August 2011 court date has been set in the Oakland Municipal Court.
On July 24, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Breakneck Road where a vehicle struck a guardrail, Ptl. Broek arrested a 25 year man from Wayne , NJ and charged him with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to HQ where he provided samples of his breath for chemical testing. Summonses were issued for reckless driving, failure to keep right, driving an unregistered vehicle and DWI. An August 2011 court date has been scheduled in the Oakland Municipal Court.
