The Fathers’ Club Pancake Breakfast has been canceled for tomorrow May 16th.
The Rec Stand requires Board of Health approval for operations, and an inspection scheduled for this Friday left little margin of error should the facilities fail to pass.
Administered by the Sports Association of Oakland, the status of The Rec stand remains in flux for this coming season. The SAO is comprised of members from The Mothers Club, The Fathers Club and The Recreation Commission. While The Rec Stand did produce a profit last season, the limited number of volunteers available to work the stand has led to consideration of alternative plans for operation. Presently, the town council is determining the viability of leasing the operation to a third party.
