There is one, six-week session, July 6 through August 14, and two, three-week sessions: July 6 through July 24 and July 27 through August 14.

“We are so pleased to be able to offer this unique program to youngsters in the community”, said Dr. Jeanne Marron, Clinical Director of Asperger’s Related Services at West Bergen. Camp SOAR is a small, nurturing program, specifically designed to help children with social challenges thrive and succeed in a camp environment.

Under the direction of West Bergen’s professional staff, Camp SOAR participants will expand their skills in a number of important areas including: building relationships; increasing flexibility; resolving conflicts; successful transitions; improving social scanning; decreasing anxiety; experiencing newness and change and coping with sensory issues. In addition, camp days will be filled with a number of fun activities such as hosting Weekly Camp Themes – history and patriotic pride or animals and nature; games; arts and crafts; drama; music; weekly trips and swim days. Daily snacks and one lunch per week will also be provided to each camper.
